The Future: How do you think being part of a school business is preparing you for life after school?

Being part of the school business, SWASTI, Well Being at Your Doorstep has empowered us and this feeling of emancipation from diffidence, reticence and monotonous mindset is patently tangible. This social entrepreneurship equipped us with the eternally quintessential soft skills like communication, teamwork, leadership, problem solving, critical and creative thinking, time and resource management and above all developed a scientific temper, much needed to sustain oneself in this challenging world. It furnished the efficacious strategies required to deal adeptly with the challenges hurled by unanticipated circumstances beyond the secure school premises and also made us realise the indispensability of possessing these vital traits to become a successful ‘Philanthropreneur’.

Being a part of the project enabled us to gain practical experience of running a real business, develop high ‘tolerance for ambiguity’, not get deflated or thwarted by setbacks, have pragmatic work ethics, perceive the importance of ‘internal locus of control’, steer clear of procrastination, be receptive to others’ perspectives, embrace taking risks, combat intractable deadlocks, and the like.

Most importantly, it educated us in the
biggest life lesson i.e. Community Service.
The noble thought behind running the school
business has solely been the pursuit of
‘humanitarianism’. This concept appealed to
us tremendously and we wish to make
demonstrable difference in the lives of the
economically deprived through our future
endeavours.

The concept of social engineering which is indeed relevant to the social fabric of a nation was also imbibed by us through this venture.Irrespective of caste, color, creed, religion, we all “gelled” so well that we were a force to reckon with in this cut throat and aggressive world.

Cohabitation and coexistence were drilled into us through this enterprise and we are indeed proud to be a part of this exclusive, one of its kind entrepreneurship.
